The vineyards of Chateau de Manissy are owned by a religious order which long resisted plans to commercialize its winemaking until a young winemaker approached them in 2003. The vintage 2004 was his first vintage and the success was immediate. The estate has been converted to Organic viticulture and starting with the 2016 vintage, the estate will be certified Biodynamic.
The Chateau is famous for its barrel-aged rosé wines.
